Where to Play
Beaches
For some outdoor fun with your dog this summer, look no further than a day on the beach. Many of Nantucket’s iconic beaches, including Jetties Beach, Cisco Beach, and Dionis Beach, are friendly to dogs—with some rules. Unmanned beaches with no lifeguards are generally open to leashed dogs year-round as long as there are no endangered species’ habitats present.
During the summer months, leashed dogs are only allowed on lifeguard beaches before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
Land Bank Dog Park
Nantucket’s first fenced-in dog park opened in 2021 and has since become incredibly popular with locals and visitors. The mid-island Land Bank Dog Park is open year-round from dawn to dusk and has two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs.
Tupancy Links
This nine-hole golf course turned conservation area contains several miles of trails and has turned into an unofficial meeting spot for local dog owners on the island. With its sweeping views of the harbor and the north shore, it’s a perfect spot for a mid-day walk with your pup.
